TEFL Class Management and Atmosphere-TEFL in China

        The active classroom atmosphere is realized by equal and free communication among students on learning issues, that is, in the classroom, students listen carefully, talk, question and debate with teachers in an orderly manner. When people study, they often need a quiet environment. Therefore, to ensure the effective implementation of teaching activities, discipline is needed in the classroom. Noisy and disorderly classroom is difficult to ensure the realization of teaching objectives. However, if too much emphasis on discipline constraints leads to a dull classroom. How can we mobilize the classroom atmosphere and promote teaching? During the four days TEFL program training, I tried to dig into this question. I think the following methods are better:


        First, as teachers, we should fully understand students, respect students, care for students and motivate students, so as to make the classroom management conform to the actual situation of students' thought, behavior and learning. Teachers are no longer the master of the classroom, but should create a learning atmosphere in which discipline and activity coexist. When teaching requires strict scientific and clear organization, teachers should be calm and comfortable; When teaching calls for strict thinking logic, or deep, or passionate, teachers' mood must be serious and exciting. These emotions are transmitted to students with the help of teaching materials and certain teaching means, such as the application of multimedia, and it will attract students like a magnet.

        Second, keep an appropriate smile, friendly wording, being confident in the teaching process. Teach naturally and calmly, keep eye contact with students at any time, infect students with true feelings and create a good teaching atmosphere.


        Thirdly, humor teaching. Teachers' humor in the classroom can not only open the door of students' thinking and stimulate students' interest in learning, but also adjust the classroom atmosphere and harmonious feelings between teachers and students. Let students participate in teaching, especially in review class. Students can voluntarily try to be teachers and use their own opinions to sort out knowledge again. I believe that it will achieve good results to flexibly organize the teaching process into class activities and involve all students.


        Sum up, as deeper as I learned from the TEFL courses, and Mr Alex’s guidance. I realized that respect students, have an kindly smile, and put more humor on the class are really important factors for English learners.
